As the temperatures start to dip in other parts of the world, Puerto Vallarta is just getting started with the start of its peak travel season.
From October on, the city experiences an influx of visitors that continues well into the early months of the upcoming year.
Higher Than Average Occupancy Sets High Expectations
Alejandro Torres Magaña, the manager of the Puerto Vallarta Hotels and Motels Association, shared that while September is usually a slower month, this year Puerto Vallarta experienced a higher-than-average occupancy rate.
Compared to previous years, where occupancy rates have dropped as low as 20% to 30%, this year’s surge in visitors has the city anticipating a record-breaking high season.
October kicks off the start of the season when international and domestic tourists start flocking to Puerto Vallarta.
“We’re expecting a surge in hotel occupancy towards the end of the year. October is an awesome month for Puerto Vallarta, and we like to say the season officially kicks off this month, and it starts on a high note,” says Torres Magaña.
