Certifications Received 

During the National Clean Beach Meeting, Jorge García, the Director of Municipal Tourism, accepted an impressive 15 certifications on behalf of the Riviera Nayarit region. 

These certifications ranged from the esteemed “White Flag” awarded by the Mexican Institute of Standardization and Certification to the prestigious “Blue Flag” certifications. 

  • White Flags (Bandera Blanca): These are awarded to beaches showing the highest standards of cleanliness and safety. Beachgoers can enjoy their time in the sun without concerns about pollution or hazards. 
  • Blue Flags (Bandera Azul): The Blue Flag is a globally recognized certification that signifies excellence in water quality, environmental management, safety, and education. It is an honor given on beaches committed to sustainability and environmental protection.

Earlier this year, three beaches in Puerto Vallarta received the prestigious Blue Flags including the Marriot Hotel, Westin Puerto Vallarta, and the Sheraton Hotel.  

Bahia de Bandera’s commitment to beach excellence was recognized with six Platinum certifications, six 120 Tourism certifications, and three additional certifications from the Mexican Institute of Standardization and Certification (INMC).  

One of these certifications was the highly esteemed Blue Flag, which adds an extra layer of prestige to the region.

Efforts to Expand 

The dedication to beach quality does not stop here. Bahía de Banderas is in the process of certifying more beaches, including Susurros del Corazón and Lo de Marcos.  

Additionally, two more beaches are going through certification processes, reinforcing the commitment to providing visitors with amazing experiences.
